Mmmmmmm . . . I doubt it. She didn't get one for The Devil Wears Prada so I guess she won't for The Devil Wears M & S.

As one of Grantham's most famous daughters the Grantham museum houses a special collection focusing on Margaret Thatcher. The Thatcher Collection contains both personal items donated by Baroness Thatcher, and other material that represents the variety of different views of her.

The Conservative run Lincolnshire County Council is looking at closing the museum as part of it's spending cuts. :<>

Yes there is a strong case for keeping it open - Auschwitz a case in point.

That was rather clever Ionns, more so as it is a one liner, rather than your usual long winded posts.

SCOTS SECRETLY LOVE IRON LADY

Scots love Margaret Thatcher

Monday September 13,2010
By Dean Herbert

A NEW opinion poll has found that a third of Scots regard Margaret Thatcher as the best British Prime Minister of the past 60 years.

The YouGov survey has revealed that Scotland holds Mrs Thatcher in higher esteem than Tony Blair.

The poll debunks the traditional view that Mrs Thatcher is universally loathed in Scotland for the Poll Tax and her perceived role in the collapse of shipbuilding, steel and coal mining.

Professor James Mitchell, of Strathclyde University’s government department, said: “This is extraordinary. The fact that she out-polls everybody, including Attlee, in Scotland is staggering.”

Lady Thatcher, 84, served as Prime Minister between 1979 and 1990. Scottish Conservative deputy leader Murdo Fraser said: “Perhaps people do, after all, have a sneaking admiration for a strong leader.”

Certainly some thing I have always known. 8)

I don't think a sample size of just over 150 is statistically viable.
Just for the record it wasn't the majority is was 28% the same survey found 32% of Scots thought Blair was a good PM.
Welcome...

A Conservative candidate in next year's Holyrood election has resigned after allegedly saying Scots were "so thick" for hating Margaret Thatcher. :<> :@

Should he have resigned,or was he being truthful ??

Well, I'm proud to be thick then. And no, he shouldn't have resigned. Instead, as he was intending to stand for Maryhill, he should have been afforded the 'opportunity' to stand on the busiest street there and share his views with the residents. See how long he'd stick around.

I never knew that Mr Tiefenbrun was into politics - but he does make exceedingly good (and very pricey) hi-fi's :D

He's doing himself a favour. He's got nothing to lose standing as a Conservative candidate in Maryhill.
