Turning the tables on the email scammers

Postby Frankie Boy » Wed Aug 17, 2011 11:26 pm

Hi all,

Firstly a confession - I am NOT new to this Forum, I do exist in another guise, however I have created this persona for effect. I hope the Mods and Admins will allow me this slight breach of the house rules :-? (I am being open an upfront about this, I will only use this ID on this thread)

Many innocent people get scammed out of lots of money each year to email scammers. So I've decided to try and tie up some of their time, so they're spending less time swindling some poor soul out of their hard earned money.

I will try and post updates as they happen, and would be grateful if anyone wants to join in with suggestions. I'll be as discrete as possible so little turns up on any google searches.

Hopefully you'll enjoy this exchange.

Frankie

Email received from a guy called Danny T.a.b.a.k.i.

(PS. I am editing all these names with full stops, to prevent them appearing on google searches)

Email Sent:

My dearest Mr Tabaki,

Thank you very very much for your kind email. I am delighted to make your acquaintanceship - it is very kind of you to think of me with your kind offer. This definitely sounds like something I could be interested in. I am also in the gold business (I will explain more in the future) and I think we may be able to reach a mutual agreement. I am very excited to hear more about what you have to say.

I am confused, your email address says MrTabaki, but you sign off as Mr Maving. Are you Mr Tabaki or Mr Maving? I want to make sure I address you in the correct manner, I would not like to insult you in any way my honest friend.

If you are Mr Tabaki, then I have a friend who shares the same most excellent surname - his first name is Waki. Perhaps he is part of your family? He is a good person to have around, especially at parties.

I am not as wise about the world as you therefore I have a couple of questions if you please:

1. Where is this "Ghana" that you talk of? Is it a shop? Or a country in South America? I have always wanted to travel to South America.
2. Who is the "Accra" person you talk of, and why would we be taking the gold to him for sale?
3. What is "PMMC"? I thought that was what ladies got once per month? Is it something different?
4. I need this to be MORE than 100% risk free, can you assure me it will be 105% risk free?
5. How much will the no upfront payment be?

I am very excited about this prospect.

Blessings from my Church be upon you and your family.

Remember my friend - we are the people.

Hail Hail!

Fondest regards
Mr. W.h.e.r.z.r.a B.u.r.d.z.

I once received an email very similar to this one, about three years ago. I strung the a**hole out for months with absurd replies like yours until I became bored with it all and simply started ignoring him. I still get an email from him at Christmas though!

Will be interesting to see how this one pans out :D
