Along the same lines as the other topic.

What would be the top 5 things you would recommend to someone visiting Kintyre?

I've been watching this thread. ...And waiting. Seems there's actually nowt to do in Kintyre then?

Even Bubbly Jock can't be bothered taking up a potential humour opportunity.

Must be bad

Top 5 favourite things to do in Kintyre:

1. An afternoon visit to the Gauldrens at Machrihanish, whatever the weather its a magical place.
2. A walk over to Davaar Island to visit the cave.
3. A walk from Westport to Machrihanish over the beach with a meal in the Beachcomber.
4. A visit to Gigha with lunch at the Boathouse.
5. A trip to Mull of Kintyre lighthouse on a good day, drive to Southend for a wander and afternoon tea in Muneroy's.

Looking forward to hearing other people views!!!

Reading this back I seem obsessed with walking and food... if only the first one was true!!

Here's mine, in no particular order:

1) Seeing my family (and new found friends).
2) The drive to Southend and eating home-made cake in the Muneroy.

Things I still want to do:

3) Walk to Davaar Island and see the painting in the cave.
4) Walk Beinn Guilean (apologies if the spelling is wrong).
5) Capture more photos of the stunning scenery.

Oh dear, no-one else is saying anything... what about you amron?

Can I add a visit to the Owl Centre, I went the other weekend, thought it was fantastic.

Another one for me still to do, which can wait now until next year, is to go out on the rib - has anyone else done that? If so, what did you think?

When you leave Kintyre or the wee toon, you know what they say 'some times absence makes the heart grow fonder'. My favourite things to do in Kintyre are:

1. Going to Davaar Island and seeing the cave, still takes your breathe away.

2. Going to Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse. Admiring the view while walking down, forgetting that you still have to walk all the way up.

3. Being at Peninver beach, brings me straight back to when I was 8 or 9 (Oh Memories)

4. Going down the quay!. My dad used to take me there as a little girl. Not many boats there now!

5. Walking along Westport, you cant beat it.

So many other things to do. Mumphys mum glad to have seen you. All these memories come flooding back.

Lets make it your favourite things as too many of you pick the same things!

MM - A trip on the Mull of Kintyre Seatours Rib is superb and I would rate that along with a trip to Sanda as a must!

A game of Golf at Machrishanish in the morning followed by a game at Dunaverty in the afternoon...
