Having recently been a trip to Europe i can honestly say it is embarrassing the state of Campbeltown streets with dog mess/litter compared to most European towns and cities .Do we have a dog warden ? and wouldn't it be more useful for the police to try and impose fines penalties on the culprits instead of hiding behind walls trees etc trying to catch motorists doing over 30mph any thoughts !!

Why do you think the police should do the Council's job for them?

The reason i think the police should be involved is because clearly the council are not doing the job or people are not taking the them seriously an when you see 5 police officers standing with a speed gun surely they can spend a little time on this subject.

The Police and the local council can impose penalties. http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2003/06/17376/22550

Yes, but the council have 9 environmental wardens who are employed to stop dog fouling and littering so why should the police stop prosecuting speeding drivers to crackdown on someone dropping a crisp packet or a dog having a crap?

These wardens have the power to issue fines or prosecute but I have yet to see anyone being named and shamed about littering or the mess their dog has left.

Also, if anyone is caught speeding in a 30mph limit then the deserve everything the law can throw at them or is the original poster advocating speeding
