Was browsing and found this book cover, which of course was instantly recognisable. Not the man ,the background.

A book by Ian(John) Morrans, born in Campbeltown early 1930s .

I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song

Well spotted Bill.

The lifeboat "The City of Glasgow" remember doing drawing then a lino cut of it in my school year at the grammar.
Great reading in the book with all the old slang words :) .

I did wonder JD if he has any relatives still in the town.I do remember there was Morrans's over John St.

That must be "The City of Glasgow 2",as the original "City of Glasgow" was stationed in Campbeltown 1929–1952.
"The City of Glasgow 2" was stationed there 1952–1979.........I think.I do remember my uncle was the crew mechanic for many years .
