You are right, Roger. It's been very quiet of late.

Aye, it's certainly been pretty deid recently. Can't think of any obvious reason unless posters are drifting off to things like Facebook etc.

Aye Rog - I was thinking the very same. I'm not sure of the reason either. Missing the banter

Maybe some of us need to post some provocative posts. You've done a bit of that before Roger?

Maybe some of us need to take the initiative.

The sparsity of the responses here underline the point you are making

There is no doubt there has been a huge move from traditional forums to facebook and twitter but the forum still has a place and like you say Emdee (and we've always said) it's really up to the users. It's a community forum and free to use so sometimes gets disheartening when people don't use it. In terms of visitors it still continutes to grow - over 350,000 page views per month and as one local pointed out to me recently there is a lot of information on this site that people like to read - especially historic posts etc.

Perhaps we could all be more proactive and raise the profile of the forum again?

Total agreement with your comment on the historic post Davie.I find it very frustrating though to open a new post in the History thread only to find it is once again a post that should be in the Genealogy thread . I contacted a moderator only last week to ask for a thread to be moved from History to Genealogy. This he/she did ,unfortunately another has sprung up in its place. I find that history posts are read and enjoyed by the majority , whereas genealogy posts are only of interest to a minority.
