The name of the loch behind Peninver (not the Black Loch at Greenland) or any other info on it? Whenever I have been at I have got to it by taking the Laggan path up Glenlussa. I have found that not many know of its existance.

There further south Roger, more above Campbeltown.

Don't know how far "reid" is walking up by Glenlussa (House)?

The only other sizeable lochs up from there is the Lussa (largest) followed by Tangy and down a bit Skeroblin Loch.

There is a couple of small lochans mile and half west of Glenlussa House, could be them?

Thats the one, the Black Loch. I have always know it as that but when I asked my old man about it he thought that I was meaning Greenland. He had no idea that it existed. Obviously there can't be any fish in it ;).

On the satellite view there appears to be a small loch of some sort just to the west of Greenland which does not appear on the Ordnance Survey maps. Never having been at that location I don't know why this might be. Does anyone know why Ordnance Survey is ignoring this feature? Is it a temporary feature like Loughareema "The Vanishing Lake" in County Antrim?

So we have ruled out Black Loch, Auchalochy and Loch Ruan.

Could it be Skeroblin Loch just south of Skeroblingarry?

Shona,Skeroblin been mention already.

Nowadays most people go to the hills with a GPS,pinpoints a location very accurately (if you have a signal).

You are right, Greenland is not on an OS map but we all know that its approx 2km north of Loch Ruan.

Approx 2km further north from Greenland is the Black Loch (on the OS map). This is the loch which I was enquiring about in my first post. Does anyone know anymore about this loch?

Skeroblin is further to the west, nearer to Tangy.

Oh and jdcarra, no need to put "reid" in quotation marks, its my name!
