They stay away. Totally. It's amazing stuff.

Spray it where they are walking around, and spray it around your door as a barrier. They will be gone by tomorrow morning.

Just to clarify. It's in an aerosol tin and its called B&Q Ant and Woodlice killer. It's about £1.90.

(It comes in a powder as well, but I think the spray is better).

We haven`t been bothered with the pesky little so and sos for a couple of years Chris, but I`ll keep the B & Q stuff in mind for if they turn up again.

During the recent spell of better weather we have noticed quite large numbers of ants coming into the house. Just wondering if this is a local problem or is it widespread over the country following the mild winter? Anybody else had this problem recently?

I think you're right about the mild winter. Yesterday I had a million zillion of them on my front doorstep all crawling under my front door. I sprayed the stuff (that Chris recommended last year) everywhere but I do worry about my wee dug!

We`ve found Wilko ant stations to work very well, just place them where you`ve seen the most ants congregating.

After having them coming in to the house for several days I got some Raid Ant Powder yesterday and sprinkled it along the threshold of the back and front doors and since then haven't seen any in the house.
