Caravan site near to Tarbert

Postby dunc99 » Fri Jan 04, 2013 2:10 pm

I am going to a wedding in Tarbert in May (Stonefield Castle Hotel).

Does anyone know of a caravan site nearby that takes touring caravans? I am not worried about facilities, a field will do, but it must be nearby (within 5 - 10 miles).

Thanks for your help.

www.muasdaleholidays.com

Fantastic place, scenery to die for, and nice owners.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will bear it in mind if there is nothing nearer. I suspect it is about 25 miles away from Stonefield.

Does anyone know of anywhere around Tarbert?

It`s about 20 to 25 minutes drive from Tarbert Dunc. There`s another at Tayinloan, called Point Sands, but can`t recommend it, as we`ve never stayed there, it`s about 4 miles nearer. Don`t actually know of any close to Tarbert, apart from the wild camping bit near Claonaig ferry, but I could be wrong.

The nearest touring site and probably the quickest to get too from your venue is Lochgilphead...http://www.lochgilpheadcaravanpark.co.uk/. There is another round Kilberry way but off the track a bit.

You could ask the hotel if they have an area you could pitch for your wedding function or be bold and slip into a layby as some others do :) .

Thanks for the replies.

Looks like Lochgilphead is the answer.
