Following the announcement by EON that their prices are rising in January I thought I’d be clever. I’m on a tariff that I pay £5 for each, gas and electric so my rates are held steady until July next year.
I thought I would cancel my current tariff and move onto another one, fixing my rates at the current prices before the January 18th price rises.
Oh no, that’s not possible it seems. I was told that if I changed to a new tariff I would be charged at their new January 18th rates even though these are not supposed to take place yet.
Does this make sense ?
Bloody pirates.
Ouch !

Reminds me of many years ago when the TV licence was due to rise on a Monday. Ours expired on the Sunday, the day before the rise, so I went to the post office on Saturday to pay it, hopefully at the old rate, to be told that they weren`t allowed to take any TV licence payments till Monday.........at the new rate!
