Sausage Meat

I was in Sainsbury's this week and asked a simple shop assistant for help.

Me - Do you have any sausage meat ?
Her - Do you mean sausages ?
Me - No, I mean sausage meat
her - Oooooh, I've never heard of that before

Holy furry ferret balls, give me strength.

Oh yes, I've experienced that one.
Just to make life interesting I refuse to ask for 50g pouch of baccy, I always ask for a 2oz pouch. Watching some of these people trying to work that one out is a pure joy to behold. It's worth the wait.
What is even better now is asking if the shop sells a specific type of baccy and insisting I don't know if it's the right brand until I see the packaging. The poor confused assistant has to open the shutters, get a pouch of baccy out, close the shutters, show it to me, only to be told it's the wrong brand. The we repeat the process all over again until I get the baccy that I had every intention of buying in the first place. Meanwhile, there is a beautiful queue forming behind me.
I always try to spread a wee dark cloud wherever I go.

Well Martin that last post you made just shows what a dick you are.

Shop assistants are there providing us with a service, most getting paid the minimum wage, I'm sure your attempts to belittle them will make them feel better and make them happy going to work every day.

Also if I were behind you in a queue and you started all that shit you would the one leaving the shop with a serious bit of verbal ringing in your ears.

Talking of Sausage meat.Do you still have those square blocks of sausage meat from which you used to cut slices, that I used to love a as lad when i visited the toon.I think they are called Lorne Sausage elsewhere.I wonder if that is the same thing? Cant get them in Sassenach land! :D

They sell packs of sliced Lorne Sausage in Iceland, it's not that great but it does. 12 thin slices for £1.

WRONG

I'm assuming by sassenach land you mean England.Well here in Bonnie Corby you can buy all things Scottish, including square sliced. Proper square sliced, bought and made in a proper butcher's shop. Not just the one butcher's shop neither.

ICELAND.....URGHHHH ! ! ! !

Why not just remove the skin from good quality sausages?

They used to do these on Plymouth market, quite decent stuff, but no sausage.

I used to get dragged up to Corby once a month in the mid 1980's and got some great produce from there, but very sorry Bill, even the best sausage in the world isn't worth going to Corby for.

Bill,I don't class Corby as sassenach land it's a little enclave of Scotland. If I remember, you where brought up in Kinloch place. You will remember the excellent square sliced sausage that was available in several of the local butchers. You will also remember the horse drawn milk cart and the whistle to announce his arrival?
