Just had a superb time at Waterfoot.Weather was good until Friday p.m.Midges were not in attendance until Saturday morning as I loaded the car. They then made up for lost time!
One of the delights in holidaying in the area is watching the wild life.Sitting outside your holiday cottage watching a Cormorant fishing for and catching eels is absolutely superb.
Everyone we met, with no exception, was friendly and helpful. The food at the Network Centre is delicious.
Sorry if this reads like a school essay, but holidaying in Kintyre is THE best!

Lucky you ! The weather here is absolutely miserable !

On the other hand funnily enough, although we have mosquitoes, I've never once seen a midgy here in Belgium ! Don’t quite understand why ! Perhaps it's the abundance of whisky in Scotland that keeps them tied down !

We`ve never yet seen midgies in Kintyre, but nearly got eaten alive at Loch Lomond.

Funny you should say that, I used to live up at the RAF Camp in the 70's, when I was a mere slip of a lad and we never were bothered or noticed them. For the last 2 years we have been back on holiday, staying at Machrihanish Camp Site and never really been bothered by any midges. The best thing is I'll be back again this year, August 10th ............... Can't wait :)
