Hi GG ! Listen to some of the tracks here..., not quite sure, but I think he’s playing what we call a goose. (nonetheless, on some tracks I hear drones..., could be miniatures or a synthiciser..., not sure, perhaps Emdee or the others might know)
The goose is bagpipes without drones and the pipe chanter is replaced by a practice chanter. (smaller)
If you listen carefully to the high notes some of them are a little "off-note," this is absolutely typical of the practice chanter ! At times, that can happen on the bagpipe chanter..., but then that's inexcusable and helps define a good player and a great band.
Not everybodies cupa, but on some tracks he's playing the full GHB..., great piper !
