Caravan - Electric Power

Postby Ship called Dignity » Sun May 13, 2012 8:43 pm

Does anyone have any experience at providing electricity for a static caravan? Currently have a battery with an invertor but wondering if anyone uses solar panels etc to beef up power for say a fridge or the likes. The invertor gives us enough power for lights but that's about it.

I doubt solar panels would provide much by way of power.

I bought myself a Hyundai HY1000SI Suitcase generator 1000w. Its a great little machine and quite quiet too. Sits happily under the caravan and works first time every time. It cost just under £400 bought via e-bay. Scammed a bit by the delivery charges as they considered Campbeltown did not qualify for mainland postage and put an extra £20 on the delivery.

I'd recommend one of these to anyone with a caravan who is looking for small power.
