Which famous face have you ever seen in Kintyre?

Paul McCartney is an obvious one.

Tommy Burns was in Campbeltown last weekend..

While i worked in woolies we had Alan Rough, katie coutts (psychic fae the daily record) and Robbie Coltrane. He was big. Also Lesley and Lewis had their pic taken with Hugh Grant at Mach golf club. I sat in the car but if Liz had been there i would have been getting my photo taken as well. :P Anybody seen any other famous faces in the wee toon???

What about that (in)famous grandson of Dalintober John Martyn (aka Iain McGeachy) and his buddy Danny Thompson "fishing" at Trumpton? Also somebody told me that BA Robertson's granny lived in Campbeltown and he used to run about the Esplanade when he was a wee boy.

Jack Bruce (shortly to make the greatest comeback since Lazarus when Cream reform this summer) lived on Sanda and reputedly the Cream anthem " White Room" should by rights have been called "Cheese Room" - (Naw, it disnae have the same ring to it).

The lead singer from "The Electric Toilet" once stayed at Torrisdale in a teepee (is that how you spell it

Politicians? - J. McConnell doing stand- up at The Ardshiel and Jim Wallace possibly the tallest man ever to bend his head in the White Hart (and he looks so wee on the telly)

Footballers - I once had a kick about with Willie Waddell in Carradale when I was wee, Tommy MacLean's wife is from up about there and Paul McStay was rumoured to be around last year

Oh, and what about Big Alex Gillies?

Who's alex gillies and ian mcGeachy, I thought when I saw this post that it was a good posting but I also wondered when it would digress to the cliquie few to make it their own. Was I wrong? To reach as wide an audience as posible you have to keep it sensible to keep it credible. How about a poll to see if others feel like that

Now I will sit back and wait for the flak.
