Photo or Painting

Postby ChrisA » Mon Jul 30, 2018 11:08 pm

Hi all, not been here for a while, seems a little quiet these days?

Anyway, we've just moved into new home in Buxton, and we are seeking the perfect picture for above our fireplace.

Would LOVE a pic of Kintyre, either from West coast showing the paps of Jura, or ideally, Saddell Bay. A painting would be preferred, but a good photo print would be fine. Anyone on here, doing siuch things, or know of anyone who is? We'd need something pretty big. 40x30 cm, that kind of thing.

Am sure local painter Ronald Togneri could oblige,
he's been painting the Kintyre coastlines for decades....

Hi Chris… Lol…, like yourself, I’m also extremely busy with rare visits.

How about drawing one yourself ? It’s easy !

If you still own a projector for slides, (and of course if you do have slides in the attic) project your favourite image onto the wall. Pull out a pencil and simply draw over the image. Switch off the power occasionally to see the progression.
Lol… Perhaps instead of drawing on the wall…, might be better using paper.

I’m sure you can do the same using a computer and projector.

Yours Aye…, Iain.

We actually used an overhead projector to do this in our art lessons when I was at the Grammar School in the 70's, and as you say, you can achieve very good results.
