Digital Cameras

Postby Ship called Dignity » Wed Nov 02, 2005 12:24 am

Anyone got good advice on the purchase of a new digital camera?

I dropped my Fujifilm F410 and it caught the zoom lens and it is completely knacked! Absolute cheesed off about it as it is a cracking wee camera that I bought on holiday last year.

Ach well it could have been worse - I could have dropped the wee man!

Must admit I like the Fuji cameras. Anyone got any advice???

Time for Mr Visa!

Best one on the market in my opinion has to be the sony, log on to their site and you will be more than impressed with their selection, it would surprise me if you choose any other make. Infact i would pay 50% of your new camera if you do not choose a Sony after looking in their site.

Hi Davie

Try http://www.internetcamerasdirect.co.uk, I got a Canon digital camera on there last year for £180, the same camera was priced at about £300 everywhere else I looked.

After advice from a few people I got a Canon Powershot A85. 4.1 megapixel.

I can't stress enough how disappointed I am with this camera. The quality of pictures is hardly better than my old 1 megapixel Kodak!

I wish I had found this excellent site prior to the purchase ....

I,ve just got a deal on a digicam from beleve it or not Tescos on their website.A friend of mine bought one of the Practika ones at £59.99.He knows about those devices and said its astounding value
The one I got yesterday for my daughter is "mind blowing" to say the least.

Also came within 2 days free delivery
Only thing is their getting so small you could lose them....

Bye bye

Sorry just back in from town..I,ve just checked on internet for another mate he,s wanting one but I see it,s temp. out of stock on the picture at this time.
This one has 3.2megs all the "stuff" flash etc zoom and all the software to put it on your PC...Have a look at their website WWW.tesco.com and you can see them..This must have been a good deal as there out of them now...However its always a good bet to ask when they will be in again
Also has a cute pouch.Front size is smaller than a debit card and about 1 inch deep..

Thats my bit for Tesco,s done now!!
Cheers

Our company camera was damaged, so we replaced it with a fuji finepix A350. New model Aug 2005. We paid £150, but last seen on sevendayshop.com for £119!!!

It's 5.2megapix, video with sound. Comes with a 16mb card, but buy a 256mb card and leather case from the same site for an extra £30.

It's the dogs bollox!

Have a squint through the above site Davie - lots of good info and a best cameras section (updated constantly). Although it's an American site most models can be found this side of the pond.

Excuse my naivety, but everyone is promoting out of town based websites. Is there no-one out there locally who is capable of supplying a digital camera?

I use a little Nikon Coolpix 4300 which I've found to be very good.

Nice feel to it although a tiny bit small in my big hands, and the optics are excellent.

It's getting a bit long in the tooth though and will have been superceded by another model I'm sure.

Cheers
