Wireless Internet Connection

Hope someone out there may be able to help. Have bought a new Acer Aspire 5920 laptop running on Vista. The problem is the laptop sees the wireless network but will only access local and not the internet any help much appreciated.

So you have a running network that was working before you bought the new laptop?
Does the old laptop still get onto the Internet?
Have you tried connecting the Vista laptop to the wireless router using a network patch cable and if so did that work?
Have you tried resetting the router?
Have you a firewall on the Vista laptop? Try switching it off.

I'm on my way out just now but if you can try some of these things I'll be back on here tomorrow.
