HELP!

Postby oorly gourlay » Sat Feb 03, 2007 4:08 pm

For the last week my Outlook Express has been regurgitating all my received e-mails in chronological order and freezes when the last one is reached. I have continually deleted them but they keep coming back. Virus checks are clear.

Any advice on how to resolve this problem?

Thanks.

Sounds like you've corrupted one of the index files.

Search your system for the file 'POP3UIDL.DBX' and delete it. Outlook Express will rebuild this file for you but it will have to download the messages one more time so it can log them, but after then it should ignore them.

Assuming this works you should check your account settings in Outlook Express to check it is set to delete old messages from the server after a reasonable time, say 2 or 3 days.
