Can't find my questions in FAQ

I've looked everywhere but can't see any help on these issues. Why do some topics appear with a red page icon? What does the red star mean? I've tried submitting a message to the administrator with these questions, I submitted the message yet it appears in my outbox, not sent. So how do I send a message?
Am I thick or what? No...please don't answer.

Oh! Just seen another topic 'What do the new thread icons mean??'. So now I know about the red page, but what about the other questions?

I posted a message to an"Admin"asking why my new post in a topic was not showing as a new topic.That was a few days ago and I have not had a reply yet.The pm will show in your out box until it is read by the person that you sent it to.

Yep - Roger is right
Messages sit in your outbox until the recipient logs on.
Roger whats the topic you relate to.
