Naturally I am going to say it was incredible. It really was a great performance but as a show it was spectacular.
I didn't queue nearly as early as for Vertigo in 2005 but still had a great view, with only one person between me and the edge of the outer walkway. Inside that there was a good few thousand between the walkway and round the stage.
The sound was incredible and even a problem with the Hampden PA system during Walk On didn't affect the Band. Thankfully it was quickly sorted.
Seven new songs, which sounded amazing and a host of older ones. Having said that, I'm fussy and could have done with hearing Please, Bad, Running to Stand Still, Stay (Far Away So Close), New Year's Day, Bullet the Blue Sky, The Fly, Miss Sarajevo plus many other classics.
I'ts hard to be objective, and I've not been to any other gigs this year but that is undoubtedly the best of the year.
Support: Glasvegas, other than one song would have been boo'd off Kinloch on Saturday had they played like that. The Hours were pretty decent.
Political Content = Minimal.
