Songs from the 80s

Have your say....

Songs from the 80s

Postby Ship called Dignity » Sat Jan 24, 2009 6:54 pm

Any favourites from the 80s? Quite a number of members on the forum grew up as teenagers in the 80s so there must be some memories....

One of my real favourites from the 80s with a "feel good factor" to their music were the Housemartins. I recall playing their album London 0 Hull 4 over and over again...

I'm a guy from Campbeltown
My hair is curly but I gel it down.... 8)

Five get over excited

We should have a thread for each decade for people to post on. 8) I'm afraid I'm too young to remember that far back but I'll believe you. Music, at the end of day is about taste and alot to do with memories.

I mind Sheik singing this and look at him now!

The Waterboys always seem to be overlooked, there is a lot to choose from but here are two of my favs.

It started up in Fife ....and ended up in tears

Couldn't remember which lager it was, so had a look on youtube and came across this blast from the past. I think this could well qualify as an excellent song AND video AND advert from the 80's.

Maybe it's just me, but that advert doesn't seem to have dated too much in 21 years!

Ah superb howls! That took me back. :D 8) 8) 8) 8) I used to think I knew all the words to Voyage Voyage. 8) Can always remember that song being played the first time I was in Splash through in the "dance" floor. I walked into the mirror in the corner thinking the dance floor went through to another bit!!  Did think the fella coming towards me looked like me! Ah to be young, drunk and underage again! 8)

I know the Smiths are not everyones cup of tea but this still remains one of my favourite songs of all time.

On that note I started to realise how much an influence my older brother had in my music taste so here is one of his favourites. 8) (I actually did like Bronksi Beat!)
