Are there any songs that just grab you in the first couple of seconds hearing it?

Folsom Prison Blues

Nights in White Satin

Eve of Destruction

Sins of the Family

Where were you when I needed You

Heart of Gold

You were on my Mind

Mull of Kintyre

Happiness
I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song

I agree with Simple Minds . . . but also The Whole of the Moon by The Waterboys . . . In a Big Country . . . and of course The Boss's Born to Run.

Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

Alot of the Joy Division and New Order stuff is excellent - here is one of my favourites

Bizarre Love Triangle

More recently and perhaps my favourite is Dakota by the Stereophonics. But that is really just the intro, not sure the song as whole leads up the expectations of the intro...

Even though I hate it, 'Relax' by Frankie Goes to Hollywood

And for us Disco freaks, there's nothing more guaranteed to get me on that floor that the first few bars of 'Disco Inferno'
