this is a song that over the last few weeks, i personally have come to dislike. although nobody can deny that its a beautiful piece of music, could we say that the increasing popularity of this song has taken away from its 'aura', its certain appeal that it maybe once had to people who held it dear to their hearts. im not suggesting that its a necessarily a bad thing that loads of people are now discovering this song and from it buckley's work, but maybe my original point could be sympathised with?
also, how do other buckley fans feel about his newfound exposure from the recent increased popularity of hallelujah? personally, i believe that an artist with such a unique talent and musical pedigree does not need (in the slightest) to ride on the coat tails of a reality television programme. as for realeasing a new buckley 'greatest hits', for which the advert featuring cd cover has the name of the song 'hallelujah' on it in bigger and bolder letters than the guys name(!!!), i think it is an atrocity that jeff buckley is now being used as a money making machine. especially with songs such as lover you should've come over, mojo pin, so real, what will you say? (i could go on and on...) being a million times better songs than hallelujah!!! although, with the unique and abundant talent the guy had, you could say it had to happen one day!
