Strictly Come Dancing

Postby Govangirl » Mon Dec 08, 2008 1:02 am

No-one has mentioned this the whole season and probably wouldn't admit to watching it anyway but it's been great! I was so sad to see Austin voted off tonight. And Barry Manilow was superb!! I love all the costumes, especially the male ones. I would love to dance like that!!!!!!! I'm rooting for Tom!

So glad you posted that Govangirl, I thought nobody up there was interested! I`ve watched every show, me and my eldest daughter just love it. I was really sorry to see the back of Austin, I`d pegged him or Tom to win it, still would love Tom to win, but it`s starting to look like it`ll be Rachel and Randy Vincent holding the trophy.

  - I disgaced myself enough mentioning the X-factor - if I had started on Strictly and the Jungle I may have been banned from posting and told to get a life away from reality tv!!!
I am not as completely hooked on this as I am on the other "unmentionables" but I was rooting for Austin!
I just wish they wouldn't put both X-factor and the dancing on at the same time of year.......then I could be a sad old couch potato for even more weeks of the year

I so agree with you Ags, it's awful having to tape them both and then find time to watch them both  Anyway, glad you and numberplease are watching so we can discuss it - I don't care who says we're sad. I can hear LR's computer engine running as we speak to tell us what he thinks of this one!!!!
I think Rachel is probably the best dancer technically but she's a bit boring. I always jumped off the sofa clapping when Austin and Tom finished their dances. I feel the same about X Factor - Alex will probably win as she's technically the best but she doesn't excite me like those boys in JLS - I don't mean THAT excitement, by the way!

I`m not exactly over-enamoured with Arlene, although she does know her stuff, I find her a trifle abrasive. I adore Bruno, maybe it`s the sexy accent! I quite like Len and Craig, but Bruno``s definitely my favourite.

I love Len the best. Craig annoys me, he's far too harsh and yes, Bruno is great. He always makes me laugh with his descriptions.

NelsonL, your mum has extremely good taste! Even more so if she`s supporting Tom, as me and my daughter are doing.

I didn't see the programme last night. I believe there has been hunrdreds of complaints that noone went out. The BBC have also advised that there will not be any refunds for people who voted last night.

I want Tom to win too! :)

Gag back on for another week LR
Apparantly the bbc have said all votes will carry forward to next week. It seems to have happened because Lisa and Rachel drew in points and were both awarded 3 points while Tom had 1 point, therefore after telephone votes, with the way their system works Tom was in a lose lose situation. I hope he wins too though as I said I thought Lisa danced an amazing tango lasy night!!

I think that Tom was marked a tad too low, and Rachel and Lisa a bit too high. Rachel is good, certainly, but boring and predictable. Tom should have done the waltz or quickstep for his chosen dance, he`s great at those, although I did enjoy his jive. I also think that the Argentine Tango was a bit unfair to Lisa and Tom, Rachel was dancing with the world champion, whereas Tom`s partner had only ever done it once, and Lisa`s partner had never done it before.

TOM TO WIN!!!!
