Songs that send a shiver down your spine

Have your say....

Songs that send a shiver down your spine

Postby Malky » Wed Aug 06, 2008 9:51 pm

I had my mp3 player set to random today and 2 songs back to back just stopped me in my tracks. They really hit a nerve. I mean, I've listened to them before, but today...... well they really did send a shiver down my spine.

The songs were Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah and Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt.
What songs are so good that they've had this effect on you?

The stone roses - this is the one- opening riff stupendous

The La's - looking glass- possibly one of the greatest songs ever written.
How many mothers to cry?
How many sons have to die?
How many missions left to fly over palestine?

I still think the La's best song is Timeless Melody and not just because of a certain cover.

At the moment, Vicious Traditions - The Veils
Colorful - The Verve Pipe
Inconceivable Odds - The Music
Take Another Little Piece Of My Heart - Janis Joplin,
are the songs I'm listening to most. I get shivers down my spine fairly regularly listening to music.

I love that song, Petewick!

However, being an expat I always get a shiver and a tear in my eye when I hear the bagpipes being played. No matter what the tune/song. But the one that gets me the most is the Dark Island. The next is a toss up between Amazing Grace and Flower of Scotland.

:(
Luv ya billions!!!

Tim Buckley's 'Dolphins', and for very personal reasons, Barber's 'Adagio for Strings'
