Art - Tattoos

Postby Bobbie En Tejas » Sat Apr 19, 2008 3:07 pm

Have I mentioned on of my daughters is a tattoo artist? She does no flash, only original art. Her art has won prizes at tattoo conventions and has also been in a tattoo magazine. The owl is not finished.

How long does it take to do one of these tattoos? And how many sittings?

Van, depending on the size of the tattoo, how elaborate, the stamina of the person getting one.

The simple ones can be done under an hour. I know she worked on the bull in two sittings, but I'm not sure how many hours each. One of her customers is a guy getting a three-quarter sleeve with a dragon, a geisha, a lotus, a fish etc all incorporated. I went in during his second sitting. I'm sure he was going to have to come back for at least another because its pretty elaborate, but (just asked her) she said that generally if the person can handle it, she likes to get them done within five hours, one sitting.

This is a form of art where for the other party involved it is torture. However, these people accept this voluntarily. It would not be me!

LOL Emdee.. sometimes she gets tiny women who relax and big burly guys who cry. I don't have any either, but I've talked to some people as they were getting them and they didn't seem like they were in much pain. I know there are a few forum members with some. Lets see your stuff

Is that a big huge tat on the person's right thigh/buttock...buttock in profile?!

No tattoos myself, and have no desire to have one done, but these are very good indeed!

I thought it might be a shoulder/ upper arm.

Would you not like a sparrowhawk? :D

Actually, its on the lower leg. If you look to the top left, that is the back of the knee. (Poor 4th got all excited thinking that was a butt.)

A couple more my daughter did.

See, I put these things here because my kids are too old for me to hang their work on my refrigerator .. . (that and the fact that the people might not appreciate it)
