Not sure if anyone has seen this film, but recently watched it and was quite amazed and 'enlightened' by it's content.
It is the story of Hitler's last days in power, and told through the eyes of one of his stenographers. It's slightly different portrayal of the Nazi's and even shows some of them in a more 'humane' light. Essentially it is a tale of the divisions within his party towards the end, with some of his men pleading with him to surrender, whilst others trying to convince him they could still win the war (when the allies were 100 yds from his bunker ) The most chilling depiction however is of the Goebbels.
There is some incredible acting by Bruno Ganz as Hitler and for those normally put off by subtitled films, after the first few moments you really don't notice it. I would say it's as important as Schindler's List in terms of film- making relating to that era.
Would be interested to hear the comments of anyone else who may have seen it.
