Band Page

Have your say....

Band Page

Postby Bobbie En Tejas » Sat Oct 27, 2007 6:34 pm

There are so many musicians on the forum that it might be interesting to have a band page, maybe a place to click on an icon for a person or band and be linked to the myspace or bebo page to hear their sounds.

Really good idea Bobbie. Maybe a section where any forum users can post links to their stuff, be it on Bebo,
Myspace, Youtube or whatever, and others can comment on them....keeping it civilised of course. Anything
from mod singers, video posters, local bands, the pipe band, etc.

Yes.. exactly.. what I see is a page with icon/avatar links at the top above the comment section and separate from it, so that no one's link gets lost in the pages of a thread. Maybe an admiWhat does anyone else think? I think its brilliant

well up for this bobbie, great idea. im sure there are plenty of folk about with their own music, local bands etc that would like to be included - a kind of register of local talent. you could also include poetry, short stories and even art. There must be a lot of talent about that no one has heard/read/seen any of their work - and the beauty about the whole system is that some people could remain anonymous if they were a wee bit shy about their own creations!

Just back in from the outside...no movement or momentum on this one, then?

Only just spotted this thead - I don't get on here much now  Busy with other things, but this does sound like a good idea.

We are limited a bit in what we can do with this forum software and I don't have the time to customise it for your suggestion of icons/links to bands. And I'm not keen on starting a new forum for it TBH (I think there are enough already) but perhaps a sticky thread that stays at the top all the time? If we limit that thread to a list of band/artist details, contacts, type of music, links to myspace etc and have any comments as new threads in this forum would that be acceptable?

If it grew we could then make a new forum and merge all the stuff in there.

Bobbie, would you like to be the moderator for it as it was your idea?

 cornered

Malky, I wouldn't mind doing that. I could glean some info from the forum, and anyone who would like a link to their site can contact me. I have some ideas which could include musicians, artists and photographers.

I'll do my best! Anyone got any links you'd like to see listed, please PM me. I'll post them on the Bands/Musicians of the KintyreForum thread.

Any play dates you'd like posted next to your band info? Let me know! Anyone will be able to see at the click of a button where and when anyone is playing or maybe a new CD release date, etc.
