Maybe not exactly filmed there, but two related bits of movie trivia with a local flavour:

A 1959 Danish production, called “The Bridal Path” – fully Scottish cast though, with the likes of Duncan MacRae, Roddy MacMillan – features the singing of Campbeltown Gaelic Choir.

And in "The Bodyguard", featuring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, the character played by Houston likes a drink or two … and if you look carefully I think that you will see that her tipple is none other than Springbank!

How about My Name is Joe, with a Tarbert location?

And according to the definitive Internet Movie Database, the film “La Mort en direct” (aka Deathwatch), with Harvey Keitel, Romy Schneider, Harry Dean Stanton and Robbie Coltrane, was filmed in Kintyre, as well as Glasgow, in 1980. Anyone remember that …? I don’t.

You have a better memory than mine, abbey ... they are all such big names now, too. And we can barely remember them being here.

I can just quite see Robbie dancing away in the back of the Kintyre.

This film is White Nights with Mikhail Barishnikov! I met him while they were filming the first 10 mins of the film when the plane in which he was traveling on (in the film) has to make a forced landing. In the film the location is supposedly in Russia. LOL

I worked at the Barrell Inn on the base at the time. In think it was in around 1982 or 1983!
