One particularly chewy caramel from years ago was Walker`s Nonsuch.Still produced here in Staffordshire. They make a chocolate/banana flavour which is lovely.

Roger, that's a new one on me, I'd never heard of it before.
My mum used to like Kendal Mint Cake, that was horrible and there was a choc ice, Midnight Mint I think, with an Owl's eyes on it....I think.
While not exactly a sweet, more of a cake....Kunzel Showboats, a very rare treat indeed along with Jap Fancies.
Ouch !

No-one has mentioned the lovely MB Bar! And I loved Lucky Numbers and always wanted to grow up and get a box of Reward chocolates because the advert showed a diamond necklace hidden in the box!!
And Martin, I think that 'ruler' of toffee was just called Highland Toffee: http://www.keepitsweet.co.uk/retro-sweets/1970s-sweets/highland-toffee#.VDguz_ldVu4

That looks very much like it. Thanks for that Mrs. N. I'm maybe not quite as stupid as I thought I was.

That's taught me something, I didn't know Zubes are still made, last time I saw those they came in a tin.
We have or did have a shop very similar to that here in The Bail.
Have you seen this place ? ....

Nope, I think I may have been wrong in saying the Bail, I always include Steep Hill in that and I think that is probably where it was/is.

I don't think I have ever come across any one who remembers the Bliss bar. I don't think they were produced for long, but it was a chocolate bar with (I think) five raised sections containing a half walnut surrounded by a soft snowball type centre. I had a few of them which I got in Ted Fleming's shop in Albyn Avenue, but they seemed to go out of production and were not available after a short time. This would be early 60s. Anyone else remember this delicacy?
