It happens with most awards or award shows - it wont cover a perfect calendar year. Might be for albums released from 1/09 of one year through to 31/8 of the following year. Same with the Oscars etc. The 2006 Brits probably covered the period mentioned.

If you look at the majority of albums in that category not including the winner, whom I assume you are meaning Green Day, they were also released in late 2004 - Arcade Fire and U2.

No, it wasn't, just looked - the category being international album. But interestingly enough the U2 album has been nominated twice.

apart from anything else its probably green day's 2nd worst album, after insomniac

(not including Kerplunk or 1039 slappy cos they are basically demoes)

As I said was not nominated last year and the reason it was nominated in this years awards was because it was released in the period deemed acceptable for this years awards.

As I said was not nominated last year and the reason it was nominated in this years awards was because it was released in the period deemed acceptable for this years awards.

but my point is that i dont think that should be acceptable
it was out for 5 months before the 2005 awards if thats not long enough what is?
