Great musical legend

Have your say....

Great musical legend

Who cares if folk come on and carp about what 'dross' I listen to. Robin Gibb wrote this when he was 17. Very talented brothers. Fantastic harmonies and not an autotune in sight, thanks for the music over the decades.

Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

Without doubt one of the greatest songwriters of the late 20th century.

I would not bother what other people think about your taste in music. If it rocks your boat that is the main thing.

All my life I have been getting hassle for daring to say you do not like a particular song or group. Indeed at times some people have been incredulous in their disbelief.

Every time I say I don't like Queen as a band and particularly Bohemian Rhapsody I get shot down from all angles.

That is not to say I don't like every Queen song, just most of them. "Is this the world we created?" is a great track.

Would I listen to Queen at home? Not a chance. If you like it ,fine, but just don't tell me that I have got to like them cos they are "legends"
" Boy " U2's first album is one of my all time favourite LP's especially for a debut and still sounds brilliant 32 year later.
Can't stand any of their stuff now.

Only my opinion. Not saying BH is not a ground breaking classic, just that I don't like it!

"Preacher taunted me as he smiled, said come and walk with me , come and walk one more mile"
Classic British songwriting band.

Thank you for that GG, Robin Gibb will be very much missed, as will the BeeGees.

Nowt wrong with the Bee Gees. Great talent, wrote a load of songs that other artists made famous.
Always liked this one....

I also love the line that Walt Jabsco mentioned, "Preacher taunted me as he smiled, said come and walk with me , come and walk one more mile" .

Going to listen to Odessa now.
Ouch !

That's a fantastic song!

I always remember in the 70s we used to go to Glasgow Uni to see bands. One Saturday night we went to see a new band called Queen who had a single out called Seven Seas of Rye. They were c*ap and were actually booed off. The following week we went to watch a band called Budgie and both Mr Govangirl and I agreed that Queen would never be heard of again and Budgie would go on to become superstars!!!!  The best band I ever saw there was Be Bop Deluxe and I predicted great things for them too

I know what you mean about U2. I was a big fan of early Genesis and we would travel afar to watch them when they had Gabriel as a frontman but once the prat drummer took over . . .

Each to their own, you're right :D

And I'm not saying Queen are c*ap btw, just that night they had trouble with their sound system . . .

Wasn't a particularly big fan myself but thought someone would come on with memories of the late, great Jon Lord . . .
