Dion (The Wanderer, Sandy, Runaround Sue etc) - Tank Full Of Blues. I didn't know this guy was still going.

2012 album from the legendary Pop/Rock singer, songwriter and musical chameleon. A street poet and singer of extraordinary versatility, range and resonance, Dion defined Rock 'n' Roll for a generation. He is an artist who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Now Dion has returned to his deepest roots and influences to release his first Blues album with mostly original songs. His critically acclaimed 2007 Blues album Bronx In Blue was nominated for a Grammy. It is this latest album, however, that Dion considers the crown of his career. Tank Full Of Blues showcases his inexhaustible creativity and sheer exuberance, qualities that have made his music and his legend endure. Dion's never stopped making music, because people have never stopped listening. The man rocks, and he rocks on... with a tank full of blues in his heart. - amazon.com

Loving Finding Albert by Finding Albert. It was released end of last year, but I only recently heard of them. Scottish band, supported Biffy on US tour, doing Wickerman, Belladrum and Edinburgh Fringe this year. Released an EP in April in advance of a new album hopefully later in the year/early next year. Guitar based but they have a strings section too, leads to quite a big, orchestral arrangement on some tracks. Check them out! :-)

Thanks Jill - I'm going to do the same Ship!

I heard Lianne La Havas on Channel 4 on Sunday - she's got an album out now called Is Your Love Big Enough? - sounds great and proper chillout music!

Also, friend of mine recommended a group called Frightened Rabbit - they're good too!

Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

Govan girl - I've not been to a gig yet, but they are supposed to be immense live. Tour dates will be announced soon, they have a FB page and that will keep you up to date with what's happening. The band are active posters on their FB page, and interact alot with their fans.
Drollyin - I absolutely LOVE Frightened Rabbit!! Saw them 2 years ago at titp - amazing band!! Love all their albums, not aw bad track on them, but Living in Colour. Nothing Like You and Backwards Walk are my favourite tracks.
Anyone like Twin Atlantic? Another great Scottish band, album is called Free. Worth a listen too folks! Xx

I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song

Listen out for Neil Young & Crazy Horse, - Psychedelic Pill.
It's one of his best ever efforts and I'm not a huge fan of his. I do believe he is an excellent songwriter but his voice tends to grate a wee bit.
Track one, Drinftin' Back, is 27 mins and 36 secs long, in my opinion it doesn't get boring. Twisted Road is another good one, the whole double album is well worth a listen.
Ouch !
