Used to think this was written by Shane,then found out it was actually Gerry Rafferty.

He was a hero and his music is still very popular and even yet forms the backdrop to Hollywood movies.

I recall visiting a mate in London in the warm summer 1978 and it was my first time there. Walking past a news-vendor in Baker Street after meeting my mate at his office as he was finishing and us on the way for a pint, they had Gerry singing that song on the radio at that moment ! Perfection ! The time and place were so right ! I'll never forget it, putting shivers down my spine.
