Marina and the Diamonds

Caught her on TV this morning - never heard of her before - and thought she was fabulous. Very New Wave - took me right back to Hazel O'Conner!
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

Yes, heard her a few months back on the Live Lounge and loved her versio of Starstruck.

As I posted elsewhere - "I hope we get a Marina in Campbeltown as good as this" 8)

Don't like that at all. When I heard her I thought she was different but can see she is going down the same road as others with this commercialised mince that involves synchronised dancing!! :(

Katya, Marina was absolutely outstandind. Possibly the best live act I've ever seen... apart from the Saw Doctors and the Hugh Trowsers of course ;)

She has some voice, it just sounds so effortless.

Great gig.

Thanks for the update JenniferG, sounds like you had a great time! I called the Old Fruitmarket because I was going to Glasgow for 4 days - only to find out I had missed the gig by 4 days :(
The Saw Doctors are playing soon again in Glasgow btw - and of course you would have to go a long way to beat the Trowsers!!!
