Ladies, what's wrong with you both? Nicholas Cage is my second dream man, he is sex on legs! Obviously I have no idea what the character is like but should you need smouldering eyes and the sexiest voice then you need Mr Cage. Ags, I cannot fathom why you would kick oot Nicholas Cage for Russell Crowe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :<> :<> :<>

GG Nothing what so ever against Nicholas Cage, infact I like him lots but he just isn't how i imagine or could ever imagine Jack Reacher :) Crowe is more big guy, tough character, and kind of how I think JR would look. Not my suggestion, just thought it was quite a good one!

"Devil" is the latest in the Jack Taylor series from Irish writer Ken Bruen, and a great addition it is.No sign of standards slipping from Bruen. This is another top notch thriller from the streets of Galway City as Taylor ,denied his long awaited dream of a new life in America, finds himself back on the drink, and as he goes about righting the wrongs which he attracts like flies to s***e ,he finds himself in the sights of the Devil himself.

Well, this morning I started on my copy of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and really can`t see myself getting much further if it doesn`t improve. I`d read aqnd heard good and bad reports of it, so decided to give it a try. The assistant in Waterstones said that if I could just get through all the business and financial stuff at the beginning I`d really enjoy it, but surely the beginning of a book is crucial to the plot? Therefore I should read and understand it, but I`m so BORED!! I`ll perservere a bit longer, don`t want it to be a complete waste of money if I can help it.
Last night I finished my 5th Alex Gray, Pitch Black, I`m really beginning to quite like her.

Well, I persevered all the way to the end Numberplease and it was a totally excrutiating, over-hyped, cliched, boring journey. I hated it and felt that if I had read one more thing about characters having a coffee or discussion about laptop specifications, I'd explode! I'd advise you to give up now and go watch a Nicholas Cage film

 I`d probably be just as bored with HIM, or Johnny One- Note as we call him!  I`ll perservere a little bit longer with the book, but I`m beginning to think I wasted my money buying it in the first place. And to think there are 2 more in the trilogy!

"Bone Man's Daughter" by Ted Dekker is a psychological thriller which I thoroughly enjoyed. U.S. Navy intelligence analyst Ryan Evans escapes his captors in Iraq, only to find on his arrival back home that his daughter has been kidnapped by serial killer The Boneman.A game of cat and mouse ensues with local police and FBI agents convinced that Ryan is infact The Boneman.

Buried Alive is the seventh in the Carson Ryder series from author J.A. Kerley.Another excellent story featuring Mobile Alabama detective Carson Ryder. While on a rare vaction in the mountains Ryder gets drawn into a series of grisly murders, which ultimately leads him to horrors from the past.

I`ve now reached page 300 of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and thankfully the story has more or less come together. It`s very long and drawn out, but I now find myself wanting to read on and see what`s coming next! So all is not lost after all.

Finished GWTDT, and surprisingly, I quite liked it after all, and may even buy the 2nd in the trilogy. Am now reading The Safe House, by Nicci French.

Michael Connelly's latest "The Reversal",released last Thursday,is another in the Harry Bosch series.Glad to say it is a return to form from Connelly after the slight dip in form from his previous release,"Nine Dragons".

The Safe House was good. The trouble with Nicci French is that the books start off well, then get a teeny bit boring, then pick up again towards the end.
I`m now reading The Snowman, by Jo Nesbo, translated fro the original Norwegian. It`s supposed to be in the same vein as The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but has been interesting right from the start, unlike TGWTDT. Jo Nesbo is being touted, apparently, as the new Stieg Larsson, but I don`t think so, not really.

Have just read The Snowman for our Book Group. We found it an ok read but all felt we are sick of these writers now who take that tired old formula of older cop that drinks and smokes too much, still gets the wummen under their duvet, doesn't follow police policy, etc. etc. A Norwegian Rebus that is not as well written frankly.
I did frighten myself reading it before bed! I'm glad it wasn't in the middle of a snowy winter and I had a snowman in my garden!

"The Dying Breed" from Irish author Declan Hughes is a terrific read. The story involves all the basics of Irish every day life,
The Catholic Church,a home for boys where abuse is widespread,National Hunt Racing and incest.Into this mix come P.I. Ed Loy,employed by a parish priest to find a jockey who has been missing for the last ten years.
