I took the wee fla to see the best team in Glasgow last week. It was his first game and to my surprise he sat quite the thing - amazing what a juice, crisps and a game boy can do. 8) Good set-up at Firhill with all kids under 16 getting in for free.

No doubt he'll support one of the other two teams but he can make his own mind up on that.

A 1-0 win to Thistle over Morton too! 8)

First visit to the new St Mirren stadium last night. Anyone else been?

Its nice and neat but was lacking in a bit of atmosphere last night. I suppose a crowd of less than 5,000 contributed to that. Might be a different story in the Homecoming Scotland Cup on Sunday against Celtic!

Think I miss Love Street though - some good memories. Watched my first Aberdeen game there in 1989, when it was still 3/4 terraced, although I had been to Ibrox before that. :<> I'm sure that'll amuse some! Also the reception John Hewitt got from the Aberdeen fans when playing for St Mirren around 91/92 and a stunning free kick from the late Hicham Zerouali in the Cup in 2000. Plenty more too, I've probably been there as many times at Pittodrie!

But another old stadium bites the dust and joins Brockville, Broomfield, Boghead, Muirton Park etc in the history books. Pity.
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

saw it on the telly briefly and was just looking at some pictures online there, looks really quite boring and lacking in character, but modern all the same. kinda reminds me of new broomfield.

a pity that brokeville's gone? suppose it is, the church pews were a nice touch!

take you're point dr-sanchez but compared to a stadium with two decent stands and one with a tarpaulin roof resembling something you might see at a Highland Games I bet there are a few Falkirk fans longing for Brockville.

Oh yes, I see what you mean Blueboyno1, you are refering to St Mirren's agreement with Celtic to let them score 7 with no reply,so they would catch up with Rangers superior goal difference and in return, a week later, Celtic would lie down and let St Mirren through to the cup semi final.

HOW DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT :<> ? all these boardroom secrets getting spilled all over the internet....terrible right enough!

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
