Did he not win the championship last year by a 'measly' point  :D

Yes,and every point won honestly, which is where the difference lies.

"Lewis Hamilton will honour his five-year contract with McLaren according to the man who is now charged with guiding the team's Formula One future.

Team principal Martin Whitmarsh is confident the 24-year-old will see out the remaining three and a half years of his current deal."

This is the announcement from McLaren in the last hour in reply to the rumour that Lewis Hamilton's father/manager is trying to negotiate a deal to leave McLaren before the end of the season.

As a huge GP fan of more years than many posters' ages on here, I have to say I'm both bored and p*ssed off with this season so far, what with sniping about Lewis, Dennis's departure, the interpretations of the rules, the diffusers argument . . . all of which have damaged the credibility of F1 imo. But most of all, Jensen bores me silly. :(

I'd take the opposite view Govangirl. I'd stopped watching it years ago, basically because they should just have had a competition to see who could change tyres the fastest, as that was the only place overtaking happened.

I've watched both races this year, and I believe the on-track racing and OVERTAKING :<> make it much more enjoyable.

The offtrack circus has always gone on I think, there's always drivers trying to get out of contracts, and moves afoot with the team principals - but I'm just delighted there's at least something worth watching on the track.

Jenson is boring tho' :D

I'm with Sheik on this. It was a boring procession before. You needed rain and a few crashes to make it interesting. And is Jensen that much more boring than the rest?

Good to see Lola making preparations to return to F1 next year.

3 out of 4 wins for Jenson Button and Brawn GP,Red Bull 2nd and Toyota 3rd.Good to see the new order emerge and sustain the results.

Jenson finally has a car to match his driving skills, and hopefully make him a champion.

I'm not sure the car is that good, but a combination of Jensons driving and Ross Brawns tactics certainly worked in Bahrain.

That was nice and convenient for McLaren putting all the blame onto Ron Dennis who no longer is associated with the McLaren F1team.
Which begs the question why was sporting director Dave Ryan suspended at the time?
