Champions League Final Predictions

Postby daftdog » Wed May 14, 2008 12:23 pm

Decided to do the same for the Champions League Final between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Here's a chance to predict what you think the outcome of the final will be. Instead of the basic win or lose, i have added extra time and penalties as options.

You can just vote or vote and say what you voted and why.

I'll go for Chelsea in normal time. Haven't seen that much of either this season, so will just go with my gut feeling and say Chelsea as i think they will have more of a hunger after losing the league title. I'll even go with a 2-1 scoreline..

Utd in normal time. They'll be on a high after clinching the league and if the rumours are to be believed half the Chelsea team are looking for a move this summer so there won't exactly be a lot of togetherness there.
Can you blame the man for going out of his mind temporarily?

Chelsea.
Zinedine Zidane, who remarked the following after Makélélé' was sold and Beckham was bought:
Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine?

I'm with Daftdog on this one, Chelsea to win due to them not winning the league. Chelsea seem to match up well against Utd. I'm going to go for 1-0 and Lampard with the goal.

I suggest we all stay well away from the bookies

I saw the two goals in the 2008 final and discovered the Liverpool v AC Milan 2005 Final on LFCTV and lost interest in this years game. Probably as i didn't really care who won it. So, i kept flicking between LFCTV and STV tonight, as memories of the 2005 final came flooding back. What a final that was. I saw it in the pub where there was a single scouser, sitting utterly dejected at half time. A few punters were trying to buy a drink for him, but he was not in the mood to even drown his sorrows. What a turn around in those mad 6 or 7 mins. The guy was jumping about buying drinks for anyone who would take one.. and at the end of the match the whole place was bouncing and the guy was in tears, just sitting crying with happiness.

I hope that somewhere tonight a Man U fan was as happy as that and not to many Chelsea fans were distraught, as losing on penalties is cruel, but the only alternative is the Golden Goal, which is not really any better.

Ferguson to retire now?

Who else from tonight's game you think will be off to pastures new? Drogba to Milan and Giggs to Sunderland perhaps to name a couple.
