Butcher confirms refereeing bias towards Rangers

Postby Hume » Thu May 08, 2008 1:56 pm

After last night's game and referring to Mark Reynolds's nudge on Kirk Broadfoot in the box Scotland's No. 2 said that he always found that as a Rangers defender he could get away with that type of thing. On the other hand when Motherwell manager he found that his defenders would always be penalised against Rangers.

Pretty conclusive to me.
Should Scotland be an Independent country?

Yes, I believe Scotland is a country and should therefore govern itself.
No, Scotland is not a country it is simply part of the UK and should therefore be governed from London.

The game has changed dramatically since Butcher was playing football. Where in the world would you see a player looking like this on a park today, and still be allowed to play?

Sorry Hume but I fear you may need to listen a wee bit closer.

He said, when he was with Rangers he felt that they never got any of those desicions however when with Motherwell he felt Rangers always got those decisions. Basically expressing the difference in mindset between the Old Firm and the other clubs and how every team feels hard done to.
