can anyone name the 9 brittish players wenger has signed?

Great question - one's I can think of are Sol Campbell, Richard Wright, Walcott, Franny "the f@nny" Jeffers, and not sure if Pennant came through the ranks or not?

But no idea who the others would be........

I'm sure that's the same 4 that everyone gets.

When you look at his track record (with the possible exception of Campbell) you can understand why he's steered clear of British players.

Think Hartson was on the books when he got there? I think it was Wenger who sold him :?:

PS. Don't dare tell me 9 include the notable North Londoner called Terry Henry :lol:

Pennant was signed for £2million when he was 16 so hes one. Hartson was there when George Graham was in charge.

He signed Djorou Stone Cold....but hes Swiss!!!

Justin Hoyte? Good player, out on loan a lot...can hardly get a regular game at Arsenal but too good to be in a reserve team. Wasn't bought though
came in as a "youth-team" player. Does that count as a signing?

Don't think so or else you have to include Kerrea Gilbert, Steve Sidwell, David Bentley, Ashley Cole etc... (as mentioned above)

Matthew Upson. Signed from Luton, sold on a few years later. Hardly got a game and broke a leg into the bargain. Managed to get a few caps
for England though, so that might tell a story?

Joe O'Cearuill signed from Watford in summer 06 (sold 07), born in England plays for the Republic of ireland though.

Asked one of my colleagues who's a die hard Gooner, he seems to think Wenger signed some "teenage sensation" from Millwall (who was meant to be the 'next big thing') right at the beginning.

Anyway he was such a sensation he doesn't think he ever played in the first team, got quickly shipped-out and painfully he can't remember the guy's name. :cry:
