Just love the BBC coverage of The Open..... right from the preview on TV and 5 Live tonight......the theme tune....the early starters and play throughout the day on Thursday and Friday...the leaders on Sat and Sunday and the big climax, in bright sunshine at the end.....absolutely magic stuff....... BBC at its best.........British TV at its best...........
Then the guy reading out the prizes says "we all meet again at ???????? this time next year" and I get all emotional........

I remember the '95 Open at St A's very well.....Costantina Rocca holed from off the green at the 18th to force the play off....which Daly won.....

'mon Monty!!

Likely Tiger though........

Yeah, Rocca deserved to win after that putt.

As to who will win, the person with the lowest score :D

American I think, probably named Jebediah Lovekratz III :D ......or something similar

Tiger is looking good! 8)

But what an excellent round by the Scottish Amateur! What is his name again?

Great coverage on the BBC, especially the interactive on Digital.

For Tiger not to win somebody is going to have to play some outstanding golf.

And that Nike advert with a young Tiger Woods is just brilliant.

Magic moments yesterday when Nicklaus was playing the 18th...very emotional indeed.......organised my work and leisure to make sure I was in to watch that.

Surely Tiger cant keep on holing put after put and missing no fairways and avoiding all bunkers............Monty can catch him yet...........maybe!

'Mon Monty.

I was very very unimpressed by the anti Monty tone of an article in the Daily Record yesterday by David McCarthy........almost mocking him and bumming up the amatuer Loyd Saltman.........obviously written before the other am Eric Ramsay came in with the good score......................

'Mon Monty.........

I honestly thought Big Monty was going to do it for a minute there on Sunday. I don't know what he's done over the last few weeks but he looks like he's getting his touch back.

I think that now he has accepted the fact that he'll never win a major (unfortunately), he's just playing for the fun of it and playing a damn sight better because of it.

B.G.

Did you ever think of auditioning for the Local radio on a Saturday.

We need a big change from that ermer the fermer and chick young, alias R.R.

Gen's usually too puffed oot from jogging up from soothen to be rational.
It's worth a try. You never know, they might jeest grab you there and then. Only wan snag. You can only speak aboot fitba fitba fitba. Dae you think you could handle that? Maybe efter a while they might allow you to diversify and mention something that doesn't need balls. Like cycling yawn or rowing ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I'll be listening on Saturday tae see if you were successful at the interview

Good Luck

Unless they recently changed the rules, you still need balls for golf. I will admit, though, that no balls could be an advantage in cycling - those seats are damned uncomfortable!

As for the radio - I'm too talented to do auditions 8)
And I'd go aff ma heid if all I was allowed to talk about was Fitba
