Andy Murray is the most boring, depressing sportsman around. OK, he's a good tennis player, but I always get the feeling he throws his toys out of the cot when things don't go to plan. He just blamed winning Wimbledon on not winning the American open and we shouldn't expact him to win every open. That's like football players complaning about losing on playing too many matches. Get a life.

Oh come ON Tarmmaker, pllllllllllllease - you ARE talking about oor Andy, the Wimbledon Champion 2013 winning in straights sets, aren't you?????? I didn't think it would be this quick before anyone started knocking him!

Quite right Andy, we can't expect you to win everything. You must be exhausted after the brilliant year you've had so take a good break and come back WINNING!!!!!

Am I correct in stating that he employed a mentor to change his attitude?If so it certainly improved his game but I have to say that I usually nod off when he starts talking.

Why do sportsmen/women HAVE to be exciting these days? Is it because of our celebrity-drenched culture that we want everyone in the public eye to be all-singing, all-dancing packages? I don't want to see Murray falling out of taxis drunk or watch him on Strictly or wowing everyone with his sparkling wit - I don't give a t*ss about his personality, frankly!!! Saying that, he's a thoroughly decent and humble young man who I'd rather have as a young person's role model than ANY footballer I can think of. If folk are bored by him, don't watch his interviews and just let his talent do the talking - seemples!!!

I agree with all you say GG. A good role model a good tennis player. It was just my opinion that whenever he is interviewed he seems so fed up and negative. Maybe I am reading him all wrong, sorry. I promise to turn the TV off in future.

Perhaps he is bit guarded with being interviewed after a joke remark he made a few years ago about the English football team lead to death threats and comments made about the Dunblane massacre

Andy Murray's been shortlisted for 'Sports Personality of the Year'? If he wins presumably they'll change it to 'Sports Person of the Year'?

If he wins ? He is the biggest certainty to win ever.

As for his perceived lack of personality, what is it that makes you such a super cool jack the lad with all the funny one liners ? Oh I forgot, most of your posts are one liners. "Good post" "Totally agree" "Spot on" "Good post,well done",etc.etc.etc.
