In the old days, before seating, there were 14,000 in the Stretford End, out of a total capacity of around 56,000. People just peeed down eachother's backs cos you couldn't move to get out. It was in the days when you could queue and pay to go in for something like the equivalent of 10p. We'd go and watch the cricket from start of play and then leg it up Warwick Road for the football. If the cricket got rained off we'd be at the foootball ground in time to see the players arrive. I can remember Bobby Charlton arriving in his pink Vauxhall. Busby had the big 3.5 litre Rover like the P.M. Bestie had a yellow Lotus Europa.
Anyway, As the Rangers joke goes: Aye, av bin tae Manchester twice; the second time tae apologise !!
