Any idea which ship that is? It isn't the minesweeper or the coastguard boat. Looks like a Frigate to me.

We were in the town on Saturday and the air was so clear it was a perfect day for taking pictures.

Cheers

I think it was HMS Kent.

I've added a few more - especially like the one of the boat arriving at Dawn - the colours are superb!

All deserve to be photos of the week - just wanted to share them with you now!

Yes indeedy. It does look like a Type 23 and the Kent is one of that ilk.

So, what was the carrier sitting of Peninver yesterday? Looked suspiciously like HMS Ocean to me.

HMS Ocean been up here most of the week and also HMS Argyll been paddling about.
There is a major "war games" on just now mostly up around Loch Ewe area but sometimes down here.Netpune Warrier it,s called this time as opposed to the JMC numbers.
You can find all about those exercises on the net and there all in "public domain" all area,s and dates.Another one taking place down near West Freugh next week.

Thanks, yes I knew there was a big exercise on. Apparently we can expect a lot of fast jet activity too.

I was trying to find somewhere on the 'net where notice of these exercises is posted but couldn't. Any ideas?
