Macmillan Cancer Support
Posted: Mon Nov 16, 2009 4:06 pmour annual Thought of Christmas event took place on Friday night in the Masonic Hall, a cooking demostration and candle display took place followed by finger buffet. Many thanks to all who came along the amount raised was £887.80.
This was our last fundraiser for the year and with fundraising events and donations the fantastic amount sent to head office for the year amounts to £14,500.00. We would like to thank everyone who has helped in various ways to raise this amount.
We as a committee have nothing to do with how the money is used but we are assured it does get spent locally in various different ways to help the people needing support.
Macmillan Cancer Support is involved with the new Sunshine Room at the Hospital and we beleive that work is starting on this in November/December. Once again sincere thanks to everyone for helping to raise this amount.
