Alan Reid has been returned as MP for Argyll and Bute. The declaration was made by Returning Officer Nigel Stewart at 12:40 on completion of the count at the Mid Argyll Sports Centre, Lochgilphead.

That's a two per cent swing in Alan Reid's favour from 2002.

All other parties' votes fell.

Pretty healthy turnout of 64.2%, up 4.1%.
