Kintyre Forum - 1st February 2005

Postby Kintyre Forum News » Thu Feb 06, 2014 12:17 am

Just noticed tonight it was 9 years ago this week that this forum was first launched. Not sure where that time has went. There is no doubt the forum has took a nosedive in the last couple of years due to social media like facebook etc but I continue to believe the forum has a place in our community.

Personally, things have changed for me over the last couple of years that I don't have as much time to spend posting news, updates, events etc on the forum. However, with nearly 12,000 page visits per day it still has far reaching value in the community. A lot of interest comes from posts made over the last 9 years which are now listed high in Google searches.

Does anyone want to help give the forum a boot up the backside?

Anyway, belated Happy Birthday to www.kintyreforum.com

As mentioned by KFN, yes there has been a drop in postings due to other media sites, but hopefully it will pick up again in the future.
Belated birthday from the Dale :) .

Many thanks for all the hard work to those who launched and also sustained the site. You are absolutely right: often when I google things the KF is high up there on lists - in fact, that's how I found it initially. Many happy returns and let's hope there's a special 10th birthday thread next year!
Blow away the dreams that tear you apart
Blow away the dreams that break your heart
Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted

Still contains nuggets not found elsewhere and I still check in most days - it will outlast that young upstart Facebook! Great effort setting it up.

In total agreement with GG's post. Although I return home regularly, and have siblings still in the town, it is good to come online and catch up with the latest news.

Long may it continue. 8)
I know my Summer'll never come
I know I'll cry until my dying day has come
Let the Winter roll along
I've got nothing left but song
