Call for local songwriters and bands to take part in 2014 Kintyre Songwriters Festival

The 7th annual Kintyre Songwriters Festival will be held in Campbeltown on the 23rd/24th/25th of May, building on the sell-out success of the previous six years. The festival allows songwriters to showcase their own songs to an interested and appreciative audience while raising money to support the arts in Kintyre. It also includes an informal open stage and seminar programme where the performers can socialise and find out more about the music industry.

The organisers try to accommodate as many local performers as possible, so if you write and/or perform songs, the festival wants to hear from you!

The event has attracted performers from as far afield as Barcelona and Berlin, with previous guests including top Scottish acts like Rachel Sermanni, Emma's Imagination, Dave Arcari, Amber Wilson (Bombay Bicycle Club), Ivan Drever, Duncan McCrone, Macanta and Panda Su.

To ensure that local talent can be given priority, the organisers urge local musicians, singer-songwriters and groups of any genre who are interested in getting involved to contact info@kintyresongwritersfestival.co.uk before the closing date of Sunday 9th February to register their interest.

Non-performing local songwriters who are interested in having their material performed at the festival should also get in touch. More information at http://www.kintyresongwritersfestival.co.uk
